Bow Rider to Bimini, #2, My Monterey, Open Ocean Bow Rider Cruising in a Monterey

On the eve of my departure, NOAA marine weather indicated that the sea and wind conditions for a Bahaman Crossing were close to perfect for Sunday. I checked out of my hotel, dropped off my rental car and prepared to sleep onboard in a sleeping bag to get an early start.

1. Always rinse down the area to be cleaned prior to washing. This helps remove any loose surface grime preventing you from scrubbing it into the finish.
2. “Dirty” rain can leave black streaks. Try to wash them off immediately. The sooner you do it, the easier they will be to remove.
3. Less is more when it comes to mixing soap with water. Too much soap will make it hard to rinse leaving soap scum.
4. Wash early or late in the day, avoiding intense sunlight will make it easier to clean because the areas you are working on won’t dry too quickly.
5. Once everything is clean, wax or polish it to make the next cleaning easier. Keep a good coat of wax on all metal hardware to prevent corrosion. You’ll recoup the cost of all the cleaning, polishing and waxing products you use in your investment’s resale value.
6. To help prevent corrosion on seals, hinges, snaps and zippers, they should be coated with water-resistant lubricant
Expect to see and review for yourself this newly re-done Motor Yacht
Hatteras expects to have their new Yacht at the Annapolis Power Boat Show
Hatteras continues the year-long celebration of its 50th Anniversary by making a stunning design debut just this past Febuary. Already a popular model, the Hatteras 60 Motor Yacht underwent an intensive design review this past year. With input from dozens of Hatteras customers plus owners of competitive products, Hatteras totally redesigned the interior spaces and added square footage in the galley and salon with an innovative approach to layout and construction that makes this boat the largest 60 foot motor yacht you’ve ever been on. The unique design theme that flows throughout the boat combines exotic woods with dual tone wall coverings and padded panels. This creates a continuous and open environment that leads you gracefully from the aft deck all the way to the full-beam master and beyond.
These sweeping changes do not stop at the salon door. The Hatteras design team created a fresh new look for the exterior with minor tweaks to the window lines, and the elimination of the engine room vents in the hull side. The flybridge is also improved with a tinted windscreen and a modified deck layout to maximize entertainment space up above.
More space and more luxury usually come with more expense, however this model competitively priced when compared against the competition.
Not to be overlooked is the very high tech hull and super-structure of the yacht. Hatteras is at the leading edge of fiberglass work with this model.

Open Ocean Bow Rider Cruising in a Monterey

There was no other boat in sight. No land to see off in the distance. Nothing. I was alone on the Atlantic Ocean about 11 miles off the coast of South Florida, heading to Bimini in the Bahamas Islands chain. The boat’s sounder had stopped reading the water depth long ago. My cell telephone no longer had a signal. I had the VHF on channel 16 and heard other boaters, but they were beyond my horizon. I slowed to idle to take it all in. I spun the boat around a full 360 degrees and saw water in every direction. No land. No boats. No people. I was very, very happy.
Boater Painter paints a Piano

Loucks, whose artistry spans a broad spectrum of “moving” art including race boats, motorcoaches painted for rock and country stars, powerboats, helicopters, offshore racers, pokerrun boats, river racers, and motorcycles, as well as his own interpretation of “canvas” works, had an idea to paint pianos when his chance meeting of Becker brought the concept through to fruition.
