To ensure comfort while fishing, John Picone, the proud owner of a new, fully-customized Viking 76 Enclosed Bridge convertible sport fishing yacht, demanded that a state-of-the-art Seakeeper M21000 Gyro be installed. Impressed with the stabilization results, Viking Yachts now offers advanced Seakeeper gyros as optional equipment on many of its models.

“The Seakeeper gyro is phenomenal,” said Viking luxury convertible sport fishing yachts senior project manager Bill Gibbons. “It does everything the company says it does. During the sea trial, there were four- to six-foot waves with an occasional eight-footer and I estimate that the gyro cut the rolling motion by over 50 to 70 percent…we fished for at least twenty-six hours and the following day all eight fishermen felt like they never left the dock,” said Picone. “No one was sore or tired from the trip. Now, I cannot imagine fishing without our Seakeeper working…when drifting or trolling at slow speed, the boat will not rock. The only movement is the boat rising and falling, making fishing totally comfortable and enjoyable. You cannot leave home without it.”

Viking Yachts is the largest manufacturer in the world of luxury convertible sport fishing yachts.

With no external appendages, Gyro Stabilization Systems are mounted inside the hull and produce a powerful righting force that virtually eliminates boat rock and roll. They are highly effective over a range of conditions, delivering unmatched stability at anchor, zero and low speeds, as well as while underway.

This is more than a boat / live aboard / coastal cruising yacht show. Its all that with a good selection of the right type of boats / yachts for these cruising styles. Diesels, “get home” marine power set-ups, port / window size for a bright main salon and galley, anchor tackle ideas, spare parts kits, how to deal with at-sea medical issues, and how to bake potatoes in the engine room while underway, how to get long engine life when you “under rpm” your cruising speed to save fuel (a diesel marine engine suffers short engine life (that can be avoided with proper instruction) when you cruise at 6 knots when you are powered for a 14 knot cruising speed).

Note, West Marine was running out of this product where I bought mine. Its hard to get, buy it if you see it at your marine store.

Check West Marine’s price on the new Meguiars Flagship Cleaner / Wax big bottle this weekend. They are having a limited time promotion going with this boat care product number M6132. Always check for this number, as the bottle is not that diffferent looking from others. It’s a barn burner price at West Marine now, to me.

Do not buy last year’s “Wax only” number M63 if you want a good cleaner to spiff up your fiberglass boat while you wax. This stuff is so new that many retail stores do not understand the difference.

Want more information or have a particular question? Call Meguiars at 1-800-347-5700. They are there to explain how to best select and use any Meguiars product on your boat.

This is the hot one for 2010. Its hard to find in-stock at your Marine Store right now, but worth the search. Some clean boat fans are even asking for their retailer to order some in for them, sight unseen, as the buzz says such strong things about this product.

Seabuddy says its so, also. It’s the one for you to use for a good early season cleaning of your fiberglass boat AND laying down a good, long lasting wax shine in one step at the same time.

What to ask for…N6132 from Meguiars, its Flagship Cleaner / Wax. This company (Meguiar’s) makes similar upscale car care products for the car show guys, just like they did when they started out 100 years ago. This is the Barry Meguiar’s associated company, the man behind that Speed Channel Show “Car Crazy” TV show. Barry is a very nice man, maybe as nice as any seabuddy / chris brown has met. One thing, all of Meguiars supports boats and boating. I see them at the marine trade shows all the time.

Meguiars show car products built this car top shelf grade car care business, which now brings out many products for the Marine Trade, with the twist in the formula that addresses Gelcoat needs (it is different than paint) and the harsher environment that boating brings to your boat.

Try it, you will love it!

In test after test, from coast to coast and from around the world, no anchor in history has been called “The World’s Best Anchor” by more boaters and respected marine experts than Fortress…and for good reason.

Years of research and development, high-tech materials and manufacturing and thousands of real world tests are your assurance of performance, quality, and value. Fortress weighs only half as much as heavier steel anchors and yet outperforms them all.

Why? Because the Fortress design does not depend upon weight to provide world class performance. All this adds up to your best value in anchoring safety

All new Sperry top-sider and Sebago, the top brands in boat shoes. There must have been 3,000 pairs there on the first day.
These are not “seconds” which have flaws in the boat shoes, but discontinued designs of first quality boat shoes. New, in the box, boat shoes.
see them here…
